A good editor is your partner.

Here's what you can expect from partnering with me.

  • I believe in trust and communication - that's what I expect from my own editors, and that's what I offer writers.
  • I provide free sample edits for up to 10 double-spaced pages so you can get a feel for how I work and if I'm the right editor for you.
  • I create a one-page agreement for services to spell out deadlines & expectations, so you always know exactly what to expect and when you'll get your manuscript back.
  • I use the Track Changes feature in Word or the Suggesting mode in Google Docs so you can see every change I make
  • I use the Comments feature to note specific places in your manuscript that might need revising or clarification, or  to explain how or why I'm suggesting an edit.
  • With every project, I write an edit letter with overall feedback and explanations.
  • I offer followup feedback, through email or optional phone or Skype/Facetime conferences to discuss edits, answer questions, or help you plan your revision or publishing goals.

Because every project is unique and every writer needs something different, my rates are customized to your particular project. I provide sample edits for up to 10 double-spaced pages to help determine that rate and show you how I work so you can be sure you're getting what you want and need. I also offer special rates for students (including graduate students in MFA programs) and offer discounts to writers with whom I've worked before. As a writer myself, I know that investing in an editor is a big decision, so I keep my rates competitive and offer a variety of ways to help you make sure you're getting the value you want.

For a personalized quote and estimate for your project, please email me - tell me a little about your project, including word count, genre, and the kind of editing you're interested in.
